Austin, Texas is home to just under 700,000 residents, and the Austin/Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) has a population of 1.4 million.  The Austin/Round Rock MSA encompasses Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, & Williamson Counties.  This MSA has seen growth of 450k residents in the past ten years – growing by 40.8%.

Austin, Texas has a fantastic music, art, & film scene & boasts more restaurants per person than any other city in the US.  Austin is a lake lovers paradise, with 3 man made lakes within its city limits.  Austin Texas real estate is, however, still affordable & the economic outlook is very healthy for the foreseeable future.

Austin’s real estate market can most easily be understood by the draw of downtown.  The University of Texas, the state capital, and more restaurants, bars, art galleries, & small businesses than you can shake a stick at are all located downtown.  Because of this, you can draw concentric circles around downtown, and watch as the property values increase the closer you get.  Downtown Austin’s condo market is currently booming with more than 15 developments under way!

Austin, Texas real estate offers much in the way of affordable housing.  Austin’s average home price is just over $200k, and the median price in the greater Austin area is a little under $160k.  Even with car payments & student loans, the median earning family can easily afford to buy.
