Home Owners Insurance

Home Owners Insurance not only protects you and your home from natural disasters and damage but also is required if your financing your home through a lender.

Why you need homeowners, condominium, or renter insurance

Home owners insurance will provide you with peace of mind, knowing that in the event of a covered loss, your damaged home will be rebuilt and your destroyed belongings will be replaced.

Condo owners can be covered for accidental damage to improvements you make in your condo unit for which your association's insurance policy does not provide coverage, various limits may apply so make sure you check with your insurance agent.

Many renters believe their personal items will be covered by the landlords insurance policy in the case of damage.  This is not true.  The landlords/property owners insurance policy protects the structure for the landlord not the contents of the structure.  It is higly recommended that renters obtain a complete renters insurance policy which will cover their personal items when a situation arises.

Homeowners, condo, or renters insurance also provides coverage for your household contents and personal belongings. Many believe furniture, clothing and appliances aren't worth a lot, but when you add up the cost of purchasing and replacing all those items due to damage, they amount to quite a bit.

These items can be easily covered in a homeowner, condo renters insurance policy.

Personal Liability

In the event someone is injured on your property or you damage property that belongs to others, you may be held legally liable for injury and/or damage.

A homeowner, condo or renter insurance policy can provide liability coverage and personal property insurance should this ever occur.

What if I don't have insurance?

Without insurance, you are solely responsible for protecting your property, possessions as well as liability exposure.

Example: If your house burns down or is destroyed by a hurricane, you'll need to rebuild your home and replace all your damaged possessions with only the funds you have or can obtain. Do you usually have $500,000 readily available in case something like this happens?

In addition, if someone is injured on your property, they may sue you for injuries and damages they sustain. Without insurance, you may have to liquidate your assets and even have your wages garnished if you need to pay for a judgment against you
