On Monday, February 4th, 2008 according to Panama City-Bay County International Airport Director Randy Curtis, “the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has reinstated the Section 404 permit and Phoenix Construction is onsite doing construction work. ”

Incredible as it seems, the fiasco continues…
This time two more groups are filing lawsuits in against the continuation of the airports construction…
The Florida Clean Water Network, based in Tallahassee and Citizens for the Bay, based in Panama City Beach are now stepping in to help waste more tax payer funds.
An article in the News Herald reports:
“Hours after construction crews began work in earnest at the new Panama City-Bay County International Airport site Monday morning, two Florida-based environmental groups launched a new legal attack on the project.
The Airport Authority late Friday received oral notice from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that it had reinstated a Section 404 permit clearing the resumption of construction work on the 1,300-acre site north of County 388, Airport Director Randy Curtis said Monday”. Read the full story here.
