Panama City Florida and the future

Every time I continue my real estate education (which is an on going process) I always apply the lessons I’ve learned toward growing my business to better serve my customers.
While having lunch during a break from my educational training this week, I’ve had the opportunity to reflect and consider how my business will be impacted over the next several months and years by the various issues facing the Panama City, Florida community.
Sure the economy is still not where we’d like it to be but the Panama City real estate market is showing significant signs of recovery.
Granted, many of the buyers today are not necessarily looking for a deal, but rather a “steal”. That’s unfortunate because there are some excellent opportunities to purchase Panama City homes for sale that are not in foreclosure or short sale status.
But there are other factors facing the local Panama City area that have the potential to significantly alter the face and personality of Bay County, Florida. I for one am very excited about the possibilities and continue to have an open mind of what is in store for us in the future.
In Scott Kent’s recent article about the old airport, he reflects and summarizes what I believe are many long time residents concerns and hopes. I too would like to see more commercial opportunities in the development of the old airport area. However, I would also like to see more family oriented entertainment venues as well.
As a taxpayer, I want to see our community prosper and become a model which other communities can follow. The new airport, the proposed development of the old airport as well as the many new communities and subdivisions being built around Panama City are all going to affect the face and personality of the area.
The impact of development currently under way has reached all accross the globe. My website reaches visitors through out the world and the most often question they ask is related to the growth of the area based on the new airport.
My brother in fact called me just yesterday to inquire about the area. My brother lives in New Jersey and is a chef for a fine dining establishment. During our conversation he stated he was considering relocating to Panama City, Florida.
I found this odd as I have been vacationing and investing here for many years before relocating and he has visited the area several times without mentioning this once.
I’m very excited about the possiblity of having my brother relocate to Panama City as I am about others having the ability to experience a unique opportunity. There are not many cities in the U.S. on the verge of significant growth with the abilitiy to reshape and re-identify itself.
I’m fortunate to be part of this growth with my real estate business and look forward to working with everyone looking for a new start or a new home.
Panama City, Florida is a wonderful community and I see the future with endless possibilities.
