Panama City Real Estate | First Time Home buyer credit
If you’re a home buyer hoping to take advantage of the First Time Home buyer credit here are some helpful facts on how to take full advantage of the credit:
According the IRS.gov website:
- You must enter into a binding contract to purchase a principle residence by April 30, 2010
- You must close on the property by June 30, 2010, . Buyers may elect to use the credit on their 2009 or 2010 tax returns.
As you can see, time is of the essence and if you want to take advantage of the credit, now is the time to act.
Panama City Real Estate | Market summary for February 2010
The latest postings of the Panama City real estate market summaries are now available for download.
While sales and prices were slightly higher than last January, single family home prices slipped slightly last month.
As we near the start of the busiest real estate season as well as opening day of the new airport we expect to see significant increases in sales and prices for all property types.
We are already experiencing higher than average volumes of visitors to the Panama City real estate website, as well as higher than normal rental inquiries.

I’ve just received information for those wanting to claim their first-time and move-up home buyer tax credit:

The Internal Revenue Service has clarified which documentation taxpayers need to submit to claim the first-time and move-up homebuyer tax credit.While the IRS is still requiring the filing of Form 5405, it is not demanding that all parties’ signatures be on the HUD-1 settlement document in areas where requiring both the buyer and the seller to sign the document isn’t common.
