Recently, I provided another interview for Bloomberg Businessweek: a very popular financial publication.

I hadn’t known the article was published until a new client contacted me and told me about it!

During the interview, I was very impressed not only of the knowledge and research they had done, but also their willingness to discuss the future prospects of the Panama City, Florida.

Basically, once again Panama City, Florida has made a real estate top 10.  This time as being one of America’s strongest housing markets for 2014.

With the new airport bringing in additional tourism in large part due to Southwest airlines, expected growth should skyrocket in the next few years.  Of course, our national economy has to strengthen to achieve some of the local goals – but I’m optimistic we are all moving in the right direction.

Now if we can just get the airports board of directors to understand Panama City needs not only increased tourism, but also:

• local business growth
• new small businesses
• major commercial distribution centers
• corporate headquarters
• other major retail and consumer industries

- our economic growth would expand at a phenomenal rate!  By bringing in both international and national franchises, all businesses and residents will prosper: More jobs = more business for local companies!  It’s a fairly easy equation – Don’t you think?

Today, NOAA is announcing that it will re-open 26,388 square miles of Gulf waters to commercial and recreational fishing in the southeastern portion of the closed area. This reopening, a third of the overall closed area, is being announced after consultation with FDA and under a re-opening protocol agreed to by NOAA, the FDA, and the Gulf states. The reopening of these areas will be effective beginning 6pm ET today.

Since mid-June, NOAA data have shown no oil in the area, and United States Coast Guard observers flying over the area in last 30 days have also not observed any oil. Additionally, trajectory models show the area is at a low risk for future exposure to oil, and fish caught in the area and tested by NOAA experts have shown no signs of contamination.

Between June 23 and July 5, NOAA collected samples of fish, including grouper, snapper, tuna, and mahi mahi from the area where the heaviest fishing will take place. Sensory and chemical testing following the methodology and procedures in the re-opening protocol showed no detectable oil or dispersant odors or flavors, and the results of chemical analysis were well below the levels of concern.

NOAA will continue to take samples for testing from the newly re-opened area, and the agency has also implemented dockside sampling to test fish caught throughout the Gulf by commercial fishermen.

NOAA will continue to evaluate the need for fisheries closures based on the evolving nature of the spill and will re-open closed areas as appropriate.

Without your unyielding devotion and dedication to our great country I would not be able to enjoy the freedoms for which you have so valiantly fought.

I believe many current and future citizens of the United States feel the same way as I and sometimes we either forget or are unsure of how to show our appreciation.

The story:

Unknown to me at the time, one of my customers submitted an entry on my behalf to RISMedia’s Top 50 Realtors on the Rise for 2008. I believe this occurred in the beginning of this year.

I hadn’t found out about this entry, until 2 months ago when I was contacted by RISMedia that I had been selected as one of the Top 50 Realtors on the Rise for 2008!

Well, you can probably imagine how ecstatic I was and also how confused. Not only was I selected, but a customer had submitted me directly without my knowledge.

I recently learned the customers identity and have of course thanked them endlessly.

It is not often in the real estate business that past customers and clients are so overwhelmed with the service they receive that they are willing to take the initiative and recommend not only friends and family but also recommend an agent for an award and/or recognition for their efforts.

This is one of the reasons I am in the Florida real estate business. I get tremendous enjoyment and fulfillment helping those with Florida real estate needs achieve their goals and dreams.

This Friday (August 1st, 2008), the world famous Club La Villa in Panama City Beach, Florida will be hosting a charity event to benefit the Panama City Humane Society’s shelter.

All proceeds will assist the society in remaining open and “destroy” free.

I urge everyone, even if you are not able to attend the event to please donate something to the society. Every little bit helps and no donation is too small.

Over the past 20 years, Jessie and I have only owned rescued pets from shelters.

While several of our pets have required special assistance in adjusting to our home, we have found each to be loving, faithful friends.

We will be hosting a booth at the convention and promoting several commercial and residential Bay County real estate development projects such as the Panama City – Bay County International Airport, Lake Merial, Ibis Lake and others.

We are officially calling this project the “KW Road Show” as we will also be attending other major real estate events through out the country and promoting these development projects where ever possible.

The purpose of the “Road Show” is to promote select local developer projects to investors and other top producing real estate professionals through out the country.
